This program is run by the Ministry of Justice and there are locations in Victoria, Nanaimo and Vancouver. The Centre’s focus is on reaching affordable solutions to a variety of legal problems including civil and family matters.


Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch:

Contains a “Guest Lounge” with information on Dial-A-Law; Lawyer Referral, and General Reading.


Collaborative Family:

Provides information on the collaborative law process (a process where all parties agree to work together to create acceptable solutions in family law without going to court).


Courts of British Columbia:

Provides information on the Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and Provincial Court, as well as a judgments database and general legal information.


Employment Standards:

Provides fact sheets, frequently asked questions, self-help information, forms, office locations, special rules, legislation and policy and an interpretation guidelines manual.


Family Law in British Columbia :

This information is provided by the Legal Services Society and contains comprehensive information pertaining to all areas of family law in British Columbia


Law Society of BC:

Provides highlights of issues pertaining to lawyers and the law, as well as information about the Law Society, You and Your Lawyer, and BC Lawyer Look-up.


Mediate BC Society:

Provides information about BC’s mediation-related initiatives, educational programs, organizations and a directory of mediators.


Ministry of Justice – Small Claims:

Provides how-to advice for taking your own case to Small Claims Court and how to proceed, including instruction guides, the Small Claims rules, a Small Claims manual, and the Small Claims forms themselves.


Ministry of Justice Family Justice:

Provides general information about separation and divorce, custody, guardianship and access, child support, spousal support and division of property, as well as mediation and collaborative law, Provincial Court, Supreme Court and getting legal advice.


Residential Tenancy Office:

Provides frequently asked tenancy questions, forms and applications, the Residential Tenancy Act and Regulations, arbitration rules of procedure and residential tenancy interpretation guidelines.

Workers’ Compensation Board:
